Students who are fluent readers more easily become fluent writers. Students who read haltingly usually do not remember what the sentence is about by the time they reach the end of it. Deciphering the words is such a painful process, that they cannot also focus on the complete meaning of the words in context. Fortunately, some simple techniques can dramatically improve students reading comprehension and thus their reading comprehension.
